Pandora ring size guide

A Pandora ring size is the inside circumference of the band in millimeters, so a size 54 ring measures 54 mm around the inside. That is a US 7. Pandora rings run from 44 to 64 in even steps, and each 2 mm step is about three quarters of a US size. If your measurement lands between two numbers, take the larger one.

Pandora does not use the US 5, 6, 7 scale. It uses the European one, where the size number is the measurement itself. Once you know that, the chart below stops being a conversion table and turns into arithmetic. Measure the finger in millimeters, round up to the next even number, and that is the size to order.

What does the number on a Pandora ring mean?

It is the inside circumference of the band in millimeters. A Pandora 56 measures 56 mm around the inside of the hole and 17.8 mm across it. Pandora's own size guide prints the diameters beside the numbers: 15.3 mm for a 48, 17.2 mm for a 54, and 19.1 mm for a 60.

You will find that number stamped inside the band, right after the S925 ALE hallmark. S925 is the metal, 92.5 percent silver. ALE is the maker's mark, the initials of Algot Enevoldsen, father of Pandora's founder. The two digits after it are the size. So a ring reading S925 ALE 56 is a 56, and you can order the next one without measuring anything.

Pandora ring size chart in mm and US sizes

Pandora publishes its comparison table for sizes 48 to 60, and it gives the US column as a range rather than one number. That is honest of them. The US scale does not land neatly on even 2 mm steps, so a Pandora 56 sits between a US 7.5 and a US 8. Sizes 44, 46, 62, and 64 are outside Pandora's printed table, so the US figures in those four rows are worked from the standard conversion this site uses everywhere: circumference in mm is 36.54 plus 2.55 per US size.

Pandora prints UK letters for the same seven middle rows: 48 is H1/2 to I1/2, 50 is J to K, 52 is L to L1/2, 54 is M1/2 to N1/2, 56 is O to P, 58 is P1/2 to Q1/2, and 60 is R1/2 to S. If you are shopping across borders, ring sizes by country explains why the UK letters and the US numbers disagree in the first place, and the full ring size chart lists every size in millimeters.

One caution about the diameter column. It is the inside of the hole, not the width of the band and not anything you can measure on a finger. Use it only when you are measuring a ring you already own.

How do I measure my Pandora ring size at home?

Wrap a strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, then lay the strip flat and read the length in millimeters. That number is your circumference, and your Pandora size is the next even number above it. Measure 55 mm and you order a 56.

That is the whole method, and it works because the Pandora scale and your measurement share a unit. Nothing to convert. Do slide the strip over the knuckle before you commit to a number. A ring sized to the base of a finger will not go on over a wider knuckle, so measure both spots and use the larger reading.

Pandora's printed guide carries one instruction that people skip, and it is the one that decides whether any of this works. Check that the 50 mm scale bar on the printed page measures 50 mm with a ruler. Browsers and print drivers shrink pages by default. Print at 94 percent, which is what fit-to-page does when a Letter sheet meets an A4 layout, and a true 54 mm finger reads as 57 on the compressed markings. You order a 58 and it spins.

Our printable ring sizer has the same calibration bar and a strip that prints to true scale, and the converter on that page turns a millimeter reading into a US size for you. If you would rather not print at all, five ways to find your ring size covers the string method and measuring a ring you already own.

What if I fall between two Pandora sizes?

Take the larger size. That is Pandora's own advice, and the gap you are choosing across is small: 2 mm of circumference works out to about 0.78 of a US size, or 0.64 mm of diameter. A finger measuring 53 mm sits almost exactly halfway between a 52 and a 54.

Round up rather than down for a plain reason. Fingers swell more than they shrink. Heat, salt, exercise, and the late afternoon all push a finger toward the top of its daily range, and a ring that is a hair loose in the morning is wearable while one that will not pass the knuckle at 6 pm is not. Why ring size changes has the numbers on how far a finger moves in a day.

Do stacking rings and wide bands need a bigger size?

Yes, one size up for both, which Pandora states in its own guide. Stacked bands press against each other and against the finger, so three thin rings at your measured size feel tighter than one thin ring did. A wide band has to clear the knuckle over a longer stretch of finger, which has the same effect.

Be a little careful with how far you go, though. A Pandora step is 2 mm, roughly three quarters of a US size, so it is a bigger jump than the quarter or half size a US jeweler would add for a wide band. For two slim stacking bands worn on the same finger, that full step can leave both of them loose. For a genuine statement ring or a stack of three or more, take the step. Pandora's own product pages describe band widths, so check the millimeters before you decide.

Can a Pandora ring be resized?

No. Pandora does not resize its rings, and neither will most jewelers, because the plating and the stone settings do not survive being cut and stretched back. Sterling silver rings from other makers usually can be sized; a plated or pave Pandora band is an exchange, not an alteration.

Pandora takes unworn, unengraved jewelry back within 30 days with proof of purchase, and a store will swap a ring for a different size on the spot. Online orders work differently: there is no size-swap flow in the returns portal, so you send the ring back for a refund and place a fresh order at the right size. Engrave it and that option closes. Which rings cannot be resized covers the same problem across metals, from tungsten to full eternity bands.

Buying one as a gift

If you cannot measure the finger, start from the average and check it against something they own. The average US women's ring size is a 6 to 7, which is a Pandora 52 to 54. The average men's size is a 9 to 10, which lands on a Pandora 60 to 62. Treat that as a starting point and nothing more. Hand size varies far more than a two-size window suggests, and an average is a poor thing to hand someone in a box.

Better than any average: borrow a ring they already wear on the right finger, look inside the band for a stamped number, and measure the inside diameter with a ruler if there is no stamp. Multiply that diameter by 3.14 and you have the circumference, which is the Pandora size. A 17.2 mm hole gives 54.0 mm, so a 54.

Haeufige Fragen

What is a Pandora size 54 in US sizes?

A US 7. The band measures 54 mm around the inside and 17.2 mm across it, which is what Pandora's own comparison table lists for that row. It is the middle of the range Pandora sells and one of the sizes most often in stock.

Does Pandora use US or European ring sizes?

European. The number on a Pandora ring is the inside circumference of the band in millimeters, not a position on the US 3 to 13 scale. That is why the sizes go 48, 50, 52 instead of 4, 5, 6, and why a Pandora 54 and a US 7 describe the same ring.

What sizes do Pandora rings come in?

Even numbers from 44 to 64, which is a US 3 up to about a US 10.5. Not every style is made across the whole range, and the 50 to 58 band is the part most reliably stocked. Pandora's own printed sizer covers 48 to 60.

Can Pandora rings be resized?

No. The plating and the stone settings will not take being cut and stretched, so a wrong size has to be exchanged. Pandora accepts unworn, unengraved returns within 30 days with proof of purchase, and a store can swap the size directly.

How do I measure my Pandora ring size without a ring?

Wrap a paper strip around the base of the finger, mark the overlap, and measure it in millimeters. Round up to the next even number and that is your Pandora size. Measure in the late afternoon when your hands are warm, and slide the strip over the knuckle first.
